The loss of a pet can be one of the hardest events we have to go through in life. The loss can be devastating, both to the owner and the family. Whether a sudden loss are a gradual loss from a long term illness, the emotional effects are the same. We are often at a loss as to what to do next, just feeling the empty place in our hearts. we need to find closure. and often the best way to to that is a memorial.
The choice of whether to bury or cremate, to save the ashes or scatter them, all are very personal and depend upon the family's personal needs and beliefs. You can also have a pet memorial service, small gathering, get a pet memorial urn, add your pet to an online pet memorial site, or just keep your memorial in your heart. The most important part that you must remember is the wonderful quality of life your pet had when he or she was with you. The method in which you memorialize your pet can reflect the happy times as well. I know there is so much sadness that you are feeling, but little by little that sadness will go away and you will be able to laugh at the joyful antics, the peaceful wisdom, or the unconditional love your little one gave you. If you bring this feeling into your memorializing of your cat, dog, bunny, horse, fish, or..., it will help get you on your way to healing the hole in your heart.
